We have two weeks to raise enough funds to challenge the Government about #DeniedMyVote.
First published in July 2019.
You may have seen in the print edition of the Guardian this week (or their online article) that we are taking our #DeniedMyVote legal challenge forward, and our lawyers sent a detailed letter before claim to the Government yesterday.
Our lawyers have produced a very powerful set of arguments based on the 1,000 odd testimonies you have given us, and we definitely could not have backed those arguments up with evidence without your amazing help.
We now want to get the justice you deserve but we cannot go to court without financial help.
The clock is now ticking and we have only two weeks to reach our fundraising target. Our lawyers will be contacting some of those who were denied their vote to ask if they are willing to become claimants in the case. The reason the cost is high is that we cannot expose those claimants to the risk of Government legal fees – so we will not be able to proceed unless we reach our fundraising target.
We are over a third of the way there, please help us do this! Would you consider pledging and sharing the crowdfunder with your contacts and on social media?

Brexit has meant normal citizens like you have stepped up to defend democracy. The UK government must be held to account. It is hiding behind a piece of EU law that is meant to prevent double voting, but which the UK government is using simply to prevent EU citizens from voting altogether.
Democracy is fragile and this attack on our voting rights is too important to just let slide, so please spread the word far and wide and pledge to donate if you can.
If we do not reach the target, you will not be charged. But if we do not reach the target, we will not be able to hold the Government to account in the Courts.
