This is Lisa from Wakefield in West Yorkshire. She voted Leave in the 2016 Referendum, but she regrets her vote and is a Remainer Now. She wants a People’s Vote to have a final say on Brexit.

I voted Leave but realise how I was lied to. So, I now believe the public should be allowed to change their minds, now they have more information on what Brexit will look like, and have a People’s Vote.

I naively believed the lies and the now-known illegal Leave campaign.

I have to say I feel really stupid, but I did believe the “they need us more than we need them” narrative, how easy it would be to negotiate a deal, the money that we pay in every year for the NHS, also immigration.

I’m not anti-immigration, I just think we should be able to control who comes here and how many.

I think I realised I had made a mistake over the last six to nine months when I saw how difficult the negotiations were, when they said it would be easy. I think I have realised that a lot of the Tory MPs have their own agenda and are self-serving.

They don’t seem to care about what happens to the country as long as they get their way. I have realised also that when Vote Leave were found to have broken electoral law, I thought it was sneaky and not true democracy, but because the referendum was advisory only, no action as regards to reversing it can be taken.

Also, the fact that the government thinks it’s ok for the same deal to be voted on numerous times in case MPs have changed their minds, but it’s undemocratic for the public to have a vote in case we have changed our minds now that we have more information!

Contempt for the public I think!

When I voted, I did not vote for the shambles we have now!! It’s a complete mess and a disgrace!! We have a government who has had a motion rejected with the highest amount of votes against them and that have been found in contempt of parliament.

I was very naive and should have done more research, but there were so many conflicting arguments it was hard to know what to believe. I have also been really worried about the future trade negotiations with the US. I don’t trust this government to not give them access to the NHS.

I also worry about food regulations, employment laws and workers rights. I can’t believe how gullible I have been. I am really sorry I didn’t realise before I voted that if the type of Tories that want it, want it, it can only be bad for the rest of us.

I really have been very stupid!!!

I think that if the government thinks it’s ok to bring the Withdrawal Agreement multiple times for a vote, in the hope that MPs will change their mind, then the public should have the chance to change their minds too and have a People’s Vote.

I would like to change my vote as I feel it is only right, and democratic, especially as parliament have voted twice already on Theresa May’s deal and maybe soon for a third time.🔷
