At a rally in New Mexico, President Trump made a strange confession to his voters in the audience that they simply did not understand.

• President Donald Trump was giving a re-election campaign speech at a rally in New Mexico yesterday night.
• Trump hopes he can turn the state red in 2020 — a state he lost to Hillary Clinton by eight points in 2016.

During the 2016 Presidential election, the then-Republican candidate promised his supporters that he would drain the swamp in Washington DC.

Last night, he boasted to his audience in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, that he is part of the swamp himself, and probably more than anyone else in Washington.

In a speech he gave in Rio Rancho, he surprisingly told his base, “If you listened to the so-called ‘Washington elite’… Why are they ‘elite’?”

“We do better than they do, we are smarter than them, we make more money, we have better houses, we have better... everything.”

“And then they say the ‘elite’... That means you are the super ‘elite’.”

“I’ve always... taken offense when somebody said, ‘President Trump is tired of listening to the ‘elite’’. I say, no, no, I am more elite than them…”

“I think so…”

“I mean, if we go by the old standards... (I have) better houses, better schools, made... much more money... lived better, had everything going...”

“… and then I decide to run for president.”

It, however, looks like his supporters in Rio Rancho did not really understand what it was they were cheering for... or they would really question his belonging to the ‘elite’ they seem to despise so much.🔷
