Brexit is a political poison and a moral abomination.

Imagine how much more hostile it feels if, like my wife, you have lived here for more than 40 years and suddenly you are made to confront the reality that it's literally not your home any longer. That distress, that betrayal, that hurt is intolerable.— Simon Ubsdell (@SimonUbsdell) November 27, 2019
It’s entirely beyond me how anyone who cares even slightly about their country, or indeed other people in general, could think that doing this to people’s lives could be ok, or for some even desireable.
Brexit is a pox on society, a political poison, and a moral abomination.
I refuse to believe that we never gave a shit about others. That we inherently believe our preferences are more important than the lives of others, or that someone doesn’t matter because of where they were born. That vast swathes of the population never gave a shit.
I feel all her pain. I always felt this was my home. Now I feel I have to justify my presence here. It’s like having been part of a family where you gave and took without even thinking, and all of a sudden having been made to feel like an intruder. It hurts.— Elena Remigi 🕷 #InLimbo #The5Million 🇪🇺🇮🇹🇬🇧 (@ElenaInLimbo) November 28, 2019
I reject it.
I have no idea if people are inherently good and caring, but I’m certain that a significant part of the population are not inherently evil. This hasn’t just happened. It wasn’t inevitable. It is not a natural expression of an underlying truth about us.
The heartlessness, disregard for others, need to put up barricades and deliberate blindness that has led to this, and allowed the hideous treatment of the poor, the sick, the disabled, the immigrant, has been manufactured. It’s been created deliberately.
It has been done TO the UK. It has been done TO people. It has been done TO us.
Don’t vote for the people who turned us into this.
Stopping Brexit won’t stop this. But keeping those people responsible for, deliberately, turning society into what it is becoming out of power and abandoning their central project is a start.
The alternative is more, and I’m afraid, much worse to come.🔷
