Tomorrow is going to be hard but there are lots of things we can do to help those who need it going forward.

First up, the3million. They need your help to raise vital funds needed to help EU26 (Irish citizens do not need to apply) residents with their Settled Status. This process requires specialist training to assist those applying.

Their funding is being used to train people to help, so please give what you can.

You can also help by speaking to any EU26 residents in your area and ask them if they have applied yet. If not, or if they need help, point them in the direction of the3million.

Next up, BritishInEurope. Citizens rights are still up in the air for this group of people. They have the unenviable task of dealing with not one government, but 26!

Their work is vital to helping UK citizens in the EU secure their rights to stay in their own homes, so please give what you can.

The next one is simple, have a quick look at your local foodbank website to see what items they need and buy a few bits when you next go shopping.

Most supermarkets have a drop off near the door for food donations. / Dreamstime - Wavebreakmedia Ltd

Most supermarkets have a drop off near the door. Easy peasy but this will help some of the most vulnerable of society to feed their families.

Also contact local homeless shelters and soup kitchens to see if they require any supplies or help.

You can also donate tomorrow night by joining in Canned_Aid which is raising money for the Trussell Trust (a network of foodbanks), and have some fun while you do so. There will be prizes, items to bid for, etc. Do you have anything better to do tomorrow?

Lastly, if you have any experience in the benefits system, housing, social care, etc. please consider contacting your MP and offer to help at surgeries.

Volunteer your expertise at local support groups, drop in centres, and homeless shelters.

We can’t stop the full consequences of what comes next with Brexit but we can help to minimise the damage.🔷

Please feel free to add any ideas you might have so we can share them too.
