Whilst voters still trust the Tories with governing the country over Labour, Keir Starmer is now the publicβs preferred leader to work in Number 10, poll shows.
First published in September 2020.
The result of the latest YouGov poll has put Labour leader Keir Starmer (37%) ahead of Boris Johnson (30%) on the question of who the public think would make the best prime minister.
The figures are yet another indicator of Johnsonβs wavering popularity through the coronavirus crisis.

Interestingly, 30% of Britons do not seem to be able to choose who of the two men would make the best PM.
In the same poll, the Conservative party is nevertheless ahead in respect to voting intention with a three point lead over Labour, 41% to 38%.

Last week, YouGov notes, the two main parties were neck and neck on 40% each.π·
