If you have had problems applying for settled status or proving your digital status because of the lack of a physical document, the3million are here to help.
First published in March 2021.
We, EU citizens in the UK, are entering a very difficult route to certainty and once again, the3million needs your help to reach out to your friends and network of EU citizens.
the3million has always approached issues methodically, seeking solutions which will benefit us, while being mindful and supportive of other migrants’ groups. This means we spend a lot of time gathering evidence to back up our arguments before we inform and educate decision-makers and influencers.
Right now, the main problems affecting EU citizens happen when they apply for settled status or try to prove their digital status. We have created two forms allowing citizens to report their personal experiences and we need you to share them, as most people don’t yet know about them.
- Form #1: Problems applying for settled status (this form is currently only available in English);
- Form #2: Problems proving your status (this form exists in 16 languages).
All forms are available on our website: www.the3million.org.uk/report-it
Please share these forms with your network, whether by email, by word of mouth or through social media.
Share the Report-it forms by email or through word of mouth
Please forward this piece to your friends and contacts with a short introduction about the forms.
For example: “Dear friend, I support the3million, the EU citizens’ group, and they asked me to share with you their report-it forms if you have had problems applying for settled status or proving your digital status because of the lack of a physical document. This helps them understand our problems, which helps all of us. The forms are translated into many languages and can all be found here: www.the3million.org.uk/report-it. Please also tell your own friends and contacts about these important forms.”
If you have time, please do follow up by calling your friends and contacts.
You could also ask them to subscribe to our newsletter, so they will get updates directly in the future. The link is: www.the3million.org.uk/subscribe
Can you help us spread the word on Facebook too?
Not everyone is on Facebook, but if you are, read on:
- Write your own post:
It would be very helpful if you could share the link to the forms in EU community groups you are a member of, using your mother tongue to introduce it.
An example: “Problems applying for, or proving, settled status? Report your problem to the3million so they can fight for our rights: www.the3million.org.uk/report-it”
- Share the3million’s posts in European languages:
We also created some graphics in some European languages to promote the form about problems proving our digital status so please share those (in your mother tongue please) in Facebook community groups you belong.
